Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School Health Center offers a variety of services to assist with the health of the students. We offer School Nurses, along with a Rochester Regional School Based Health Center.
School Nurse's Office
At MLK School No. 9, our School Nurses:
- Handle minor illness
- Hand out prescribed medications to students

The School Based Health Center is staffed by a Nurse Practitioner, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Therapists, and Outreach Workers. A developmental pediatrician is also available for consultation services.
The goal is to proved health services to the students in our school that will keep them both physically and emotionally healthy.
- Services are provided at no cost to all students
- The SBHC does not replace your pediatrician, but works with them to ensure consistent quality care
- Students must register (one time registration for the entire time your student attends MLK # 9)
- Contact the Health Center for additional information on becoming a member.
- Provide Basic Pediatric medical service for students, including physicals, immunizations, asthma care, acute illness care, testing, and prescriptions
- Provide Counseling for students
- Mental Health services provided by therapists from GMHC
